Welcome to the Yatton Model Engineering website. For those who do not know me a little about myself.

I have been a model railway enthusiast for some 70+ years and still have my first (working) OO gauge locomotive that I have had from 4 years old! Little wonder then that over 20 years ago when I was forced into retirement and not being able to find/afford the variety or quality of rolling stock to purchase, as an engineer, I decided to make my own.

Conventional model engineering methods were taking too long so a laser cutter was purchased to make better quality kits. When launched at the 16mm Narrow Gauge Society at Stoneleigh in 2011 the resultant orders took two months to complete.

I aim to build scale models of prototypes in matching sets for the railway and period chosen so you can build representative trains.

Rather than batch make a model I make kits to order so although there may be a wait (usually no more than a couple of weeks) no kit as yet has gone “out of stock”. Improvements in design often get incorporated in older kits.

I will also undertake a design service if there is a particular prototype that you wish but I reserve the right to market it.

The range is constantly expanding and this is a long overdue update to the website.
